YOUR DAY TO DAY:

Directs and participates in the overall detailed product design, analysis and testing of the assigned Coupled Cavity Traveling Wave Tubes and other Microwave products. Supports the production of existing products in the Coupled Cavity Group (CCT) such as product improvement and building of efficiency initiatives.

YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

  • Devises the initial concept of the assigned Coupled Cavity Traveling Wave Tubes, associated component or system and other Microwave products; directs and participates in the overall detailed product design, analysis and testing.
  • Supports the production of existing products in the Coupled Cavity Group (CCT) such as product improvement and build efficiency initiatives.
  • Develops and improves engineering processes and work instructions for building high quality vacuum tubes.
  • Performs and manages project related administrative tasks such as planning, execution, and monitoring schedules and cost control according to assigned budget.
  • Conceives, analyses, prepares and presents proposals for new programs which will lead to modification to existing products or new products; organizes and implements or assists in organizing and implementing a thorough R & D program.
  • Develop costs estimates for products, projects and programs.
  • Specifies and evaluates environmental conditions for the device - such as shock, vibration, temperature, etc., analyses equipment to establish operating data and conducts experimental tests.
  • Recognizes design problems and errors and take corrective action.
  • Maintains high level of technical competence, ethics, and state of the art awareness.
  • Coordinates with other departments such as Purchasing, Production control, Marketing, Customer Service, Quality Assurance and others as needed to carry out project tasks to meet strategic departmental/ organizational goals.

YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE:

  • MS degree in Electrical Engineering, or related discipline and minimum of 3 yrs Engineering work experience in a manufacturing, or development engineering environment; OR
  • Bachelor's degree plus minimum 7 years Electrical Engineering work experience in a manufacturing, or development engineering environment.
  • Ability to manage complex programs, projects, and products independently with no supervision.
  • Hands-on experience with a high level of understanding of engineering principles, RF/microwave concepts, vacuum science, materials and process engineering, manufacturing science, etc.
  • Knowledge of CCT traveling wave tubes including design, analysis, testing, functionality, materials and processes desired, or ability to learn it.
  • Must have a passion for hands-on work and problem solving.
  • Familiarity of Solid modeling software (AutoCAD/Autodesk, SolidWorks, ANSYS, Maxwell) OR ability to learn it.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal/written communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to work on a team and be a team-player.
  • Strong work ethics and initiative.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a U.S. Department of Defense Security Clearance.

Salary Range: $85,000-$125,000 / year
