ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

Hiring Range: $95,000 - $105,000

TheDesktop EngineerII plays a key role in the IT User Support Services environment with responsibility for the planning and engineering of the desktop systems infrastructure. This includes the implementation and design of hardware and software. The ideal candidate will have the experience and ability to be a technical lead for multiple simultaneous projects. The candidate should possess a passion for operational excellence and possess excellent interpersonal and soft skills.

Key Responsibilities

Essential functions

  • Responsible for the engineering (design, implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement) of the desktop environment including system management tools.
    • Desktop image and application package creation
    • Enterprise-wide application and software update deployments
  • Identify departmental needs and make suggestions regarding technical direction.
  • Produce and maintain desktop hardware and software roadmaps.
  • Develop and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower human intervention time on any tasks.
  • Lead technical resource for Desktop Engineering related projects and activities.
  • Represent the interests of our customers by providing 3rd level support and appropriate escalation to other IT functions when issues cannot be resolved by the IT User Support Services team.
  • Develop and publish technical documentation to ensure appropriate knowledge transfer for desktop support and help desk staff.
  • Support management in skill development and training of desktop support and helpdesk staff.
  • Documentation and tracking of requests and incidents via an ITSM tool.
  • Managing and monitoring of service levels with internal customers and vendors.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed

  • Microsoft Intune/Autopilot
  • Formal training and/or advanced knowledge of the following:
  • Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Microsoft Active Directory
  • Scripting tools such as PowerShell
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated Project Management skills.
  • Ability to effectively leverage clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated success training and supporting knowledge/skill development of user support staff.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Prefer 4+ Years in a lead or supervisory IT role.
  • Prefer A+, Network+, ITIL Foundations certifications.
