SENIOR DIRECTOR, SALES

THE COMPANY:

Element Science, Inc. is a medical device and digital health company focused on developing solutions at the intersection of clinical-grade wearables, machine learning algorithms, and lifesaving therapies in order to address leading causes of death and hospitalization in patients with heart disease, primarily as they transition from the hospital-to-home. By putting the needs of patients and physicians first, our personalized digital devices, which are designed for function, comfort, and ease-of-use, aim to redefine the paradigm of care for these patients. Our first product, a wearable patch defibrillator, is initially targeted at treating the more than 500,000 patients in the US with an elevated temporary risk of potentially experiencing a lethal heart rhythm. SUMMARY OF ROLE:

Element Science, a cutting-edge start-up in the medical device industry, is revolutionizing the wearable defibrillator market. As we prepare to launch our groundbreaking product into the commercial space, we are seeking a dynamic and results-driven professional to join our team as the Senior Director, Sales.

The Senior Director, Sales is responsible for providing leadership and direction to a team of Territory Managers (TMs). The Senior Director, Sales will work closely with the Head of Commercial as well as key corporate Sales/Marketing and Field Clinical Operations personnel to determine the sales strategies, coverage, and territory alignment. The Senior Director, Sales will also develop and implement an area business plan to maximize business opportunities and achieve sales goals by ensuring that sales forecasts and operations budgets are met or exceed within the region.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Optimize sales and profitability of the Jewel product across targeted markets.
  • Evaluates staff potential, identifies current business strengths, and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement annual sales plans.
  • Builds accurate annual budgets and plans based on market analysis and growth strategy.
  • Oversee strategic sales territory development and forecast modeling.
  • Build and develop a high-performing organization by overseeing selection, field training, compensation, motivation, sales data validation, and performance reviews for field sales and sales management personnel.
  • Establish and uphold performance standards, conduct evaluations, reviews, and report on sales team performance in alignment with sales goals and corporate objectives.
  • Inspires and guides Sales Leads to achieve exceptional results through effective coaching and motivation.
  • Recruits, hires, and on-boards newly hired managers to productivity quickly.
  • Advise and support Territory Managers and FCRs on recommended plans, programs and policies as related to sales within the area.
  • Establishes industry networks to enhance business presence and brand visibility.
  • Maintains and develops client contacts at senior levels within customer organizations.
  • Develops clear, achievable strategies, objectives, and tactical plans grounded in segmentation, customer-centricity/needs, and market dynamics.
  • Drive sales growth through the strategic development and utilization of diverse sales channels.
  • Deliver clear and succinct feedback to operational partners to enhance the customer experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Cardiovascular Sales experience.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of managerial experience, either as a Regional Director or other managerial role such as Sales Training, Sales Operations, National Accounts, Marketing, etc.
  • Overnight travel up to 60%.
  • Ability to provide sound leadership to a team, demonstrate guidance and coaching abilities, and direct team to achieve set objectives.
  • Unsurpassed level of professionalism and ability to communicate at all levels of the customer organization.
  • Demonstrate the ability to identify customer's needs and to deliver or adjust expectations.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

The salary for this exempt-level position will be based on experience and qualifications within an established pay range. Total Target Earnings is composed of base salary + target incentive.
